Objectives:
Students will:
become familiar with most of PowerPoint's advanced features, including: inserting new slides, formatting slides, transitions, custom animation, clip art, inserting pictures from files, inserting music from the clip organizer, inserting music from a file, formatting of clip art and hyperlinks both within a program and to external sites.
plan a PowerPoint program prior to beginning the program
research the subject of a PowerPoint program using Internet search engines and websites.

Day 1-5 | PowerPoint tutorial available for student use at home or school. |
The teacher will have students make a 4 slide PowerPoint program step by step in this order: make new slide, choose slide design, insert new slide, choose slide type, titles, sub-titles, text boxes, clip art, transitions, custom animation, and music. Students will be graded on having each of the above items. | Students will follow directions while building the program. |
Day 6-16 | |
In collaboration with the homeroom teacher (if possible)
students will be assigned a topic. Students will be assigned the topic,
research the topic, collect images from the Internet for the program and
make a PowerPoint program that explains the topic.
Students will be assessed on the final project with a rubric. Periodic assessment will take place after research and planning. |
Students will research their project, plan the project using a teacher provided planning document, collect images and information off the Internet and produce the final PowerPoint presentation. |
